Why do all my chat history and chat lists disappear after I switch to a new device?

Switching to a new device is exciting, but you may notice that your chat history and chat lists do not automatically appear. Here’s why and what you need to know.

 

1. Local Storage of Chat Data
JusTalk Kids stores your chat messages, photos, videos, and other content locally on your device to ensure maximum privacy. This means:
Messages are not stored on JusTalk Kids servers
Chat history cannot automatically sync to a new device
Because of this design, when you log in on a new device, your previous messages and chat lists will not be visible by default.

 

2. How to Keep Your Chat History
If you want to keep your chats when switching devices, we recommend:
Save important media to your device or cloud storage
Inform contacts that you are switching devices, so you can continue conversations smoothly
Currently, JusTalk Kids does not provide automatic cloud chat sync between devices, due to privacy and security considerations.

 

3. What Will Transfer
Even though chat history is not synced, the following will still be available when you log in on a new device:
Your account information (ID, email, linked phone number)
Group memberships (you will still be part of any groups you joined)
Settings and subscription info (if you have JusTalk Kids Premium or Family linked)

 

4. Tips for a Smooth Device Transition
Backup chats before switching devices
Check app version on the new device to ensure compatibility
Re-add your contacts if needed
